COHERENCE

by Melisa Hassan

This work explores the coherence of our community, as a function of the communication and connectedness, between the privileged and the underprivileged, the invulnerable and the vulnerable, the core and the marginalised. The larger the discrepancy, the less coherent the community.

Depicted are two children: one with, and one without. Without even the most basic of human rights, the luckless child must find their own way in the world.

Melisa is an amateur artist with an interest in painting. With mural artwork being a recent addition to her portfolio, she is currently experimenting with 3D optical illusion paintings.

Melisa volunteers with a local human rights organisation that focuses on protecting the rights of children regardless of their documentation status.
